Companion Care
This service includes companionship and assistance with daily activities. If the person is living alone or family visits are infrequent, having social contact with others is important to personal happiness and feelings of worth. Personal care involves assistance with bathing (whether this is safety stand-by, or assistance with the washing and drying), assistance with dressing as needed and grooming. Post-Hospital Care
If you or a family member are scheduled for surgery, or following a medical procedure, the process can be overwhelming, Our service can help smooth the process and give you peace of mind.
Day Surgery Support
We can support you or a family member throughout the Day Surgery experience. If a family member is not able to be there with their loved one, our experienced staff can step in for you. Services can be adapted to your own situation and can include:

Peace of Mind Services

Sitter Services
There are times where you are not available to stay for prolonged periods with a loved one who is in hospital or who may be living in residential care and has become unwell. Sitter Services are an ideal solution. Our skilled and compassionate staff can monitor and be a companion to your loved one so that you can have some respite or be able to continue with essential life activities knowing that your loved one is being supported. Services are available by the hour (2-hour minimum). Sitter Services can include:

After-hospital support
Returning home after an acute illness or surgery is daunting. Although we look forward to being at home and to sleep in our own bed again, the reality is, our energy levels and often our physical abilities are temporarily altered because of the surgery or illness. Senior Helpers offers non-medical support services tailored to meet the needs of adults of any age returning home after hospitalization. Services include Companion and Personal care and can be arranged pre-hospitalization or when preparing for discharge.
Respite Service
There are many reasons to utilize respite services. If you are a full-time care for a family member, or a family care who does not live with the person needing care, there are times where you are called away from your home or caring role and need to find a reliable person to support your relative or partner in your absence. Wellness Watch
When you need to travel for extended periods with business or take an extended annual holiday, leaving an elderly relative behind is a concern, even if they are well and independent. Sometimes the telephone or facetime are just not enough. Wellness Watch is a non-invasive service that is available to keep contact with your loved one while you are away. Services can be customized to your needs and preferences. However, the basic program consists of:

Weekly phone call from a delegated member of our staff

A one-hour visit for a cup of tea and companionship

A sole point of contact for you in relation to your family member

A monthly report from our team delegate regarding your relative’s wellbeing.
